As your Humble Blogger, it is not my intention to confuse you dear readers, I just want to mention a device I use for a mental check after a major health occurrence. I worked in the radiation physics/chemistry area for most of my career at 3M Company. Thus it was natural for me after mitral valve repair (in which my heart was stopped and blood flow to my brain and organs was dependent on a machine) to want to scribble on a piece of paper the formula below, shortly after awakening from surgery to determine if my memory still retained it! The formula calculates radioactive decay and I used the formula often in every day work. I'm sure the attending nurse in the recovery room at University of Maryland Medical Center was somewhat amused when I asked for a piece of paper and pencil so soon after I opened my eyes and then saw the scribbled result.
I don't know if this formula test replaces the questions: Do you know where you are? What is the current month, date and day of the week? Who is the current President of the United States etc. But Humble Blogger's knowing the formula must at least augment them.
